The Zoom! Professional Teeth Whitening System

The Zoom! Teeth Whitening System is a complete laser whitening teeth treatment system. A registered trademark of Discus Dental, Inc, it is a system that provides the dentist with all the needed bleaching materials such as the tooth whitener, the bleaching light, and even many of the disposable and single patient use items that your dentist will need when performing Zoom! whitening teeth treatments.

Similar to laser teeth whitening and teeth whitening products, the bleaching process lightens discoloration of enamel and dentin.

The procedure begins with a preparation period followed as little as by 45 minutes of bleaching. The patient has a hydrogen peroxide mixture applied to the teeth. A special ultraviolet lamp is then directed at them to speed up the procedure.

The hydrogen peroxide acts as a bleaching agent when activated by the Zoom light and penetrates the surface of the tooth. A study has shown that use of the Zoom! lamp increases the effectiveness of the Zoom! gel by 26% or more, giving an average improvement of up to eight shades.

The Zoom! light has an infrared filter that minimizes heat generated but may cause slight discomfort among some patients. They may also experience some minor tingling sensations just after the whitening teeth treatment but these will subside after a while.

Before undergoing the Zoom! teeth whitening system, teeth must be cleaned by a professional to ensure that teeth are free from plaque as this may hinder the whitening teeth process. People who have severe tooth decay, have a serious gag reflex and sensitive gums may not be suitable for this whitening teeth treatment.

The Zoom! teeth whitening system is an expensive procedure but the end results are impressive. After the completion of the procedure, additional whitener (tray-based teeth whitening product) and instructions are given to the patient so they can continue the bleaching process at home to prolong the whitening teeth results.
